Technical Overview
IPRental is a very unique type of proxy service. Instead of tweaking advanced settings on your computer, IPRental allows users to simply download a client application and begin surfing over one of our anonymous, residential USA IP addresses. More sophisticated users access our proxy IPs via the IPrental API which allows the serving of IPs from within existing software applications. We lease our IPs for a short time duration and cycle through a limitless number of fresh IPs on an ongoing basis. Our goal is to offer our customers the ultimate in anonymity and security on the Web. Our client application now cleans cookies after each connection, and allows users to manipulate their Timezone and User Agent, which are the only other possible factors besides IP address that could allow websites you visit to identify your specific traffic or identity.
IPRental also offers a VPN service which sets users free from the constraints of firewalls put up by corporations, governments, ISPs, or other entities. Use our affordable VPN to surf in complete safety from home, work, or any wireless hotspots. Our VPN service does not contain the large number of IPs as our proxy service, but is just as easy to use, simply sign up, download the program, and start surfing securely.

A Closed VPN Network
We've taken the same approach to our VPN as we took with our hugely successful proxy service, which is to make the product the best offering technically, while being the easiest to use. Our closest competitor, StrongVPN, which is the largest VPN service on the Internet, requires you to have quite a bit of time and tech savvy to set up and use. Be prepared for a complicated signup process, setting up the ability to use a VPN on your computer, connecting to their peers, et.... Instead of a 7 step process to use a VPN, we have distilled this down to 3 easy steps: sign up for service, install our app, sign in and begin using. We don't make you choose between 13 levels of service, instead we give you all the best features, like 256 bit encryption, and the ability to run from a key-disk, all for a single low price, available as a subscription or a single yearly payment.
A Closed Proxy Network
Standard proxy services are either open to many various users or utilize a finite set of IP addresses which eventually get blocked by the sites you want to access. IPRental's approach eliminates both of these shortfalls since all of our IPs come from a private national network we operate with the help of our users, partners, and strategic alliances. Unlike TOR or comparable services, our network is only available to paying members, and is constantly being expanded around the USA and around the World.

OnBoard Proxy
Our Version 3.0 contains the IPRental Proxy Service which uses proxy chaining to glean IPs from our network. This allows you to utilize our IP serving technology directly from within the applications you run which allow you to specify port settings. Listed below is a description of how this works:
The “Proxy Listener” & the “IPSwitch Listener” swap ports (54420 & 54421) during each IPLease.
Port 54420 -> Connected to IP xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
Port 54421 -> Acting as the IPSwitch Listener
So in the above example: Sending requests over port 54420 will result in a proper Proxy Chain to our parent nodes. However, sending a request to port 54421 would result with IPRental dropping the current connection with IP xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx and cycle IPRental to fetch a fresh IP, thereby leaving the application connected as shown below:
Port 54420 -> Acting as the IPSwitch Listener
Port 54421 -> Connected to IP yyy.yyy.yyy.yyy
In addition, you may specify the ports from within the settings menu, along with adjusting whether the "IPSwitch Listener" is active.
Proxy UserAgent Masking
In addition to tracking your IP addresses, many sites have become more advanced in identifying users, and now track your User Agent which is a combination of factors including the type of browser you are using, your operating system, .NET version, plugins on your computer, etc…. Version 3.0 contains a handy feature which allows users to randomly assign various User Agent's to all your applications system wide, effectively masking your session identity.

Proxy Residue Scanner
This breakthrough feature wipes out all persistent cache and files from your online session, allowing users the option of deleting cookies & temporary files with each fresh IP. This modular scanner supports Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Flash, Adobe Flash Tracking (LSO/Super Cookies), Firefox (3.x ~ 9.x), Internet Explorer (4.x ~ 10.x), Google Chrome (4.x, ~ 15.x), Temp Files, and IE SSL Key Pairs.
The residue scanner is executed upon every new IP Address you receive from IPRental, which makes this a critical feature in the fight for online privacy since now cookies, super cookies, fonts, plugins & ActiveX are all key factors used to persistently track your online session.
